"Vertigo," "Tokyo Story" top Sight and Sound Polls

The most interesting thing to do with this list is to go to the Sight & Sound (BFI) website and read the individual ballots, especially by directors. More than anything this seems to be a reflection of which movies have been written about the most over the previous 10 years. Seriously, if I read/hear one more “Vertigo” paper (shakes fist).

The biggest surprise is Tarkovsky’s “Mirror” being on the Director’s list. I can think of at least 2 Tarkovsky films that I’d expect to be higher.
